How bars and lounges book a monthly DJ night that actually builds a crowd
If you run a bar, lounge, restaurant or hotel patio, you have probably tried a one-off DJ night. It was fine. Some people came. Then nothing happened, because nobody knew when the next one was. A single night is an event. A fixed night every month is a habit, and habits are what fill a room on a Thursday.
How the series works. Four dates, same night of the month, agreed up front. Same DJ every time so the regulars know what they are getting. A guaranteed fee for the series so you can budget it and I can hold the dates.
What you get on each night. Up to two hours on your house system, open format, read to your room. A Thursday happy-hour crowd and a Saturday late crowd want different sets, and the music follows the people, not a playlist. Hip-hop and R&B are my roots; house, disco, Latin and throwbacks are all in the crates.
What it costs. $350 per two-hour set as a one-off. For a four-date series, the fee is fixed up front for all four dates, which is how most of my venue partners run it. If you want longer than two hours on a given night, extra hours are $200.
What makes it work. Three things, and only one of them is me. First, the night has a name and a fixed date, and both go on your calendar, your socials and the chalkboard by the door. Second, the staff know about it, because the bartender who says "come back for Redlite on the 18th" does more than any flyer. Third, the room gets a reason to come back. A drink special tied to the night is the usual one.
Song requests without the phone-in-your-face. Guests at my nights scan a QR code and send requests straight to my booth. I play what fits the room. It keeps the booth clear and gives your regulars a reason to feel like it is their night.
If you want to talk about a series, use the form on the home page and pick Venue night. Tell me the night of the week you are thinking about and what your crowd looks like, and I'll reply the same day.
